This product listing is for our existing valued customers who wish to upgrade to the new handle by retro-fitting it to the shaft. In order to make the installation as quick as possible, we have included self-tapping screws which will simultaneously drill and tap the hole for you provided you have an 8mm socket and extension. Alternatively drill through where shown with a 5mm drill bit the tighten the fixings with an 8mm spanner, 1 at a time.
Our new handle is now standard on all new manual and electric reels. When buying a new manual reel, we have already permanently fixed the handle to the shaft for you. On a new electric reel, we have drilled and tapped the holes ready to accept the handle quickly should you ever lose power.
Retro-fitting sequence:
- Place the handle onto the shaft until it is flush with the shaft end cap (Pic 2)
- Fix the first self tapping screw as shown (Pic 3)
- Fix the remaining 2 screws at an equal distance and within the recesses (Pic 4)
Its recommended that winding handles should only be fixed onto electric reels if the reel has a fault and must be removed once the problem is resolved
